The imKey Pro is a card-sized hardware wallet from imKey, the hardware company founded by the team behind the imToken wallet. Your private keys are generated and held on a bank-grade secure element, and every transaction is confirmed on the device's own screen.

Security

• After five incorrect attempts the device resets itself to factory settings, and you restore from your recovery phrase
• A binding code ties the imKey Pro to one phone, so a device on its own is of no use to anyone else

imKey Pro supports 12 mainchains and over 5,000 tokens: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cosmos, Vaulta, TRON, Nervos, Bitcoin Cash, Litecoin, Kusama, Polkadot, Dogecoin and Filecoin.

Layer 2 networks including Arbitrum, Optimism and zkSync Era are supported, as are EVM-compatible chains such as BNB Smart Chain, Avalanche and Polygon.

Apps and compatibility

Activation runs through the imToken app, so set the device up with your phone first even if you intend to use it mainly from a computer.

Common questions

Do I need the imToken app?
Yes. imToken activates the device, binds it to your phone and is where you manage your assets. imKey and imToken come from the same team, which is why the integration is as tight as it is.

Can I use it from a computer?
Yes. Connect over USB-C to the Rabby Wallet Chrome extension. Firmware and Bluetooth updates run through imKey Manager on Mac or Windows.

What happens if I forget my PIN?
After five wrong attempts the device wipes itself back to factory settings. You then restore your wallet from the 12-word recovery phrase, which is exactly why that phrase has to be written down and kept somewhere safe.

Does it need charging?
Yes. The 33 mAh battery lasts around four weeks per charge and tops up over USB-C.

Is this a card I tap on my phone?
No. The imKey Pro has its own screen and buttons and connects over Bluetooth, so you read and approve each transaction on the device rather than trusting what your phone shows you.
